HostSailor is a UAE-registered host selling VPS, storage and dedicated servers from the Netherlands and the United States, aimed at budget buyers more than privacy purists. Its terms allow it to act against an account whose owner fails to provide identification when asked. ID is not routinely demanded, but it can be requested at any point, and refusing puts the service at risk.
HostSailor's signup undercuts the appeal of its crypto options. The privacy policy says registration collects full name, mailing address, phone numbers, email and a credit card number with expiry date, so a pseudonymous account is not really on offer. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and USDT are accepted, partly through CoinGate, but Monero is not among the listed methods. Bitcoin refunds are also not returned to the sender: they go to a verified PayPal account or become account credit, which ties a crypto payment back to an identity.
HostSailor's catalogue runs from tiny VPS instances to large dedicated machines. VPS plans are managed through SolusVM, with Linux included and Windows at extra cost. The NVMe KVM VPS line includes free DDoS protection, and a /64 IPv6 subnet is added free on request. SSD KVM accounts activate as soon as payment is confirmed, while budget dedicated servers take up to two business days. Its budget Fujitsu dedicated plans pair unmetered incoming traffic with a fixed outgoing allowance. The provider advertises 99.9% uptime.
HostSailor's most notable policy is its stated willingness to report user conduct and hand information to law enforcement on formal or informal requests, meaning no court order is required. Copyright infringement can lead to termination, cryptocurrency mining is banned, and port 25 is blocked on VPS services by default, which limits self-hosted mail. New customers get a 14-day money-back guarantee; returning customers do not.
HostSailor works for anyone wanting inexpensive European or US servers with DDoS protection and IPv6, who has no objection to registering under a real name. For anonymity it falls short: a mandatory card number at signup, ID requests at its discretion and voluntary disclosure to authorities leave little privacy beyond paying in crypto.
