Our verdict

AlexHost is a Moldova-based VPS and dedicated server company, running its own data center in an underground shelter in Chisinau, and it fits buyers who value that jurisdiction more than anonymity. Its agreement obliges customers to register and provide all the necessary documents and data the operator requires. In practice this means ID can be demanded at signup or at any point afterwards, and the privacy policy lists a national ID or tax number among the data it collects.

AlexHost asks for a full name for account identification and invoicing, so signing up anonymously is not on offer. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin are accepted alongside cards, but no privacy-focused coin appears among the options. Crypto refunds also carry a minimum, which makes small Bitcoin payments hard to recover. Two smaller clauses stand out. Text typed into the site's AI FAQ chat may be sent to OpenAI. The agreement also ends automatically for non-residents whose cumulative payments pass a set threshold without a transaction passport.

AlexHost's catalogue covers VPS and dedicated machines, from small virtual servers up to large-memory hardware, billed in euros. Beyond Moldova it has locations across Europe and in the United States. It advertises DDoS protection, VPS deployment within minutes and 99.99% uptime, and it claims support replies within half an hour. IPv6 is available on VPS.

AlexHost's terms pull in two directions on legal requests. One clause says client information is released only after a conviction and an official request from Moldovan law enforcement. Others reserve the right to cooperate with authorities in investigations and to monitor traffic entering and leaving its network. Copyright complaints go through an abuse form with a 72-hour turnaround, and Tor exit relays are banned. New hosting accounts get a 30-day full refund, though returned dedicated servers and colocation lose 30% to a fee, and breaking the acceptable use policy cancels any refund.

AlexHost makes sense for someone who wants European or Moldovan infrastructure with advertised DDoS protection and is comfortable being a fully identified customer. Anyone whose threat model depends on staying unnamed to their host should not sign up: the provider collects government identifiers and keeps the right to demand more documents. Its strongest privacy line, the conviction-only disclosure promise, is undercut by its own monitoring and cooperation clauses. Tor exit operators are also excluded outright.
