Our verdict

SporeStack is a crypto-only reseller of VPS and dedicated servers, aimed at developers and privacy-minded buyers who want to rent infrastructure without tying it to a name or inbox. Nothing on its site mentions asking customers for ID, now or later, and its signup page states that no KYC is required. The servers run on DigitalOcean and Vultr, though, and the provider says those companies' policies apply too.

SporeStack drops the usual account entirely: there is no email field, and funds sit on a token that acts as the login. Payment is crypto only, and Monero is the option that matters for privacy, since Bitcoin and USDT leave public trails. The site also runs as a Tor hidden service. Two caveats are worth knowing. Tokens left unused for three years are deleted whatever their balance, and the provider can see server hostnames in plain text, so neutral names are wise.

SporeStack covers a wide map because it builds on large cloud networks, with locations across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Plans run from half-gigabyte VPS up to 32 GB machines. Standard VPS are generally ready within a few minutes, while the manually provisioned Slow Servers line can take up to 48 hours and offers OpenBSD or Debian. Management happens through the website, a CLI or an API. DigitalOcean servers get a /64 IPv6 block. Extra bandwidth cannot be bought, and going over the allowance may get a server shut down.

SporeStack is blunt that it is not bulletproof or DMCA-ignored hosting. A valid DMCA complaint means deletion with no refund, and it answers valid legal requests from the US and from the country hosting the server. Tor relays are allowed only as guard or middle nodes, not exits. Outbound ports 25 and 465 are blocked on new servers, though this can sometimes be lifted. Refunds are available by closing out the token through support, but tokens banned for policy violations lose their balance.

SporeStack makes the most sense for scripted, short-lived or geographically spread deployments where anonymity at signup matters more than legal shelter. Anyone needing exit relays, mail servers, heavy bandwidth or protection from takedowns should choose a different host, since the provider and its upstream clouds will act on complaints.

Pros & cons

  • Wide spread of locations across several continents
  • Standard VPS are generally ready within 1–3 minutes

Cons

  • Tokens unused for three years are deleted regardless of remaining balance
  • Tor exit relays are not allowed and outbound mail ports are blocked by default
